Boda Intelligent Prompt (BIP)
Your AI assistant across BodaPro extensions. Describe what you want in plain language and BIP works out the steps — looking data up, calling an extension's API, opening panels and running commands — using the tools each extension makes available to it.
BIP only acts through tools an extension has explicitly declared. Every call is checked against that declaration before it runs, and in Agent mode anything sensitive waits for your approval.
Contexts
Each extension that ships a BIP context becomes a specialist assistant for that extension: it knows the extension's tools, and can use nothing else.
- Choose a context when you start a chat, from a card for every BIP-enabled extension installed.
- Switch with
@— type@and the extension's key to change context mid-chat. - Launched from other extensions — an extension can open a BIP chat already scoped to its own context, with a starter prompt filled in for you to review. It is never sent automatically.
- Borrowed tools — when a task needs a capability another installed extension provides, such as a file picker or a parser, BIP can find and use it.
Plan and Agent modes
- Plan — read-only lookups; suggests and describes actions without doing them.
- Agent — executes the work, with confirmation on sensitive actions.
When BIP asks to take an action you can approve it, decline it, or — for actions that don't change or delete anything — approve it for the rest of the session. BIP can also stop and ask you a question, offering choices you can click.
What BIP can do in a run
- Show its work — each tool call appears as it runs, with its outcome.
- Investigate in parallel — split a question into up to five read-only investigations that run at the same time.
- Plan several steps at once — build a multi-step plan in a single pass and run it locally, which means fewer round trips and fewer tokens. Plan mode still blocks writes.
- Follow skills — step-by-step procedures written by an extension's author, loaded only when they're relevant.
- Run Python — for analysis, with pandas and the BodaPro API available. Desktop app only.
Each message runs for up to 12 steps, and a single tool call times out after 30 seconds.
Conversations
- History — chats are saved to your BodaPro account. Search them, rename them, delete them, or reopen one where you left off.
- Pinned facts — key values from the conversation, such as a record ID, stay pinned as chips so they aren't lost in a long chat. Clear them any time.
- Context meter — shows how full the conversation is, broken down by what's using the space. Compact summarises the conversation to free room, and it happens automatically when needed.
- Slash commands —
/clearto start fresh,/helpfor the rest. - Token balance — how many chat tokens you have left this period and when they reset.
Cloud or local
BIP runs on BodaPro's cloud by default. If the Boda LocalLLM extension is installed and its model is running, a switch lets you run completions on your own machine instead. Local runs don't count against your token balance.
Requirements
- A BodaPro account. Cloud mode needs you to be signed in.
- A BIP subscription — the plan and its monthly token allowance are shown in the app. Some extensions provide their own model for their context; those chats don't need one.
- An internet connection for cloud completions and chat history. With a local model, completions work offline, but history won't sync.
- Extensions with a BIP context. BIP works through other extensions — on its own, it has nothing to act on.
