BodaPro Studio

BodaPro Studio is a code editor inside BodaPro. Open any project folder and edit, search, run and commit your code without leaving the app.

It works with projects in many languages, including JavaScript and TypeScript, Python and Django, Go, Rust, Flutter and Expo. Studio recognises the kind of project you open and sets up its tasks for you.

Features

1. Editor

• Code editing: Syntax highlighting, autocomplete and error checking for JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, CSS and HTML; syntax highlighting for many other languages.
• Several projects at once: Open more than one folder and switch between them in the Explorer.
• Formatting: Format a file with one click.
• Markdown preview: See how a Markdown file will look while you write it.
• Large and binary files: Studio warns before opening files that are very large or not text.

2. Find your way around

• Go to file (Cmd/Ctrl+P): Type part of a file name to open it. Add :line to jump to a line.
• Command palette (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P): Run any Studio command by name.
• Find and replace in files (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+F): Search all open projects, with match case, whole word, regular expressions and include/exclude filters.

3. Source control (Git)

• Changes: See changed, added and deleted files, and open a side-by-side diff for each.
• Stage and commit: Stage files, write a message and commit.
• Branches: Switch branches, create new ones, and pull or push.
• Line markers: Changed lines are marked beside the code in the editor.

4. Tasks and terminal

• Tasks found for you: npm, yarn and pnpm scripts, Makefile targets, Django commands, Go, Cargo, Flutter and Expo tasks appear automatically.
• Your own tasks: Add more in .bodapro-studio/tasks.json in your project.
• Terminal: Run tasks or open a terminal in any project folder (uses the Terminal extension).

5. Problems

• One list of problems: Errors from the editor and from task output (TypeScript, Python, pytest, webpack and more) are collected in the Problems panel.
• Jump to the error: Click a problem to open the file at that line.

6. BIP coding assistant

• Ask BIP: Ask the BIP assistant to explain, write or fix code in your open projects.
• You stay in control: Every change BIP proposes is shown for you to accept or reject, and BIP asks before running a task.
• Fix with BIP: Send any problem from the Problems panel to BIP to fix.
